The Triumphant Return of Lady Bike!
It’s been a while since we had one, but this January we’ll see the return of Lady Bike! Lady Bike is a special shop for women, by women. Fixing bicycles and mechanics in general are often seen as male-dominated pursuits. Lady Bike exists to create an atmosphere free from such stereotypes and paradigms, and anyone who identifies as female is welcome. It’s been a long time since we’ve scheduled a Lady Bike shop. However, we strive to create a safe and welcoming space at all of our shops for everyone, regardless of gender and background, and there are female coordinators on hand at many of our Open and Volunteer Shops. Want to help make Lady Bike happen more often? Apprentice to become a coordinator!
We’re Overrun With Bikes & They’re 10% Off
Our mechanics have been hard at work cranking out bikes and there are a ton ready for you to come by and take home. We have everything from commuters to road bikes to mountain bike and more. Come by and take a look any time we’re open. If you didn’t know, we also have regular daytime hours from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday.
Tire & Tube Recycling @ YBP
We mentioned last month that Yellow Bike would being taking over where Jack & Adams left off. This month, we’d like to announce to all local bike shops that we are housing a trailer for Bicycle Recycle to gather all your old tires and tubes for reuse.
Our Favorite Brewery and very first FrankenBike Sponsor, Independence Brewing Company, will be onsite with adult beverage for those of us 21 years and older so bring your ID if you’d like a cold one or two. 😉
Austin’s Favorite Pizza Company and also one of FrankenBikes very first sponsors, Austin’s Pizza, will be onsite with inexpensive, Fresh Slices and Pizza Rolls so if you’re hungry make sure to save a couple bucks for some awesome grub!
That’s it for now. Until then please Stay Safe, Work Hard and Go Ride Your Bike! See you on December 27, 2014. 😉
